23,400 Teachers Have Received a “Digital Toolbox”

 

 To date, 23,400 teachers instructing some 560,000 students in 1,981 schools and kindergartens across 153 local authorities throughout Israel have received a "digital toolbox" from Athena Fund. Each digital toolbox includes a laptop or iPad, a wireless printer, 120 hours of professional training, a 3-year hardware warranty, 3-year technical support, and education credits, as well as a projector and Wi-Fi in each classroom.

 

iPads for special education teachers

During the 2018-2019 school year, we distributed iPads within the framework of the “Digital Toolbox for Every Special Education Teacher” program to some 7,800 school and kindergarten teachers in 86 local authorities across Israel including: Kiryat Yam, Merchavim Regional Council, Ofakim, Eshkol Regional Council, Bnei Shimon Regional Council, Shoham, Isfiya, Menashe Regional Council, Jordan Valley Regional Council, Katzrin, Bi’ina, Mateh Asher Regional Council, Raanana, Hod Hasharon, Rehovot, Umm al-Fahm, Haifa, Amal school network, Jerusalem, Beer Yaakov, Taibe, Netanya, Maghar, Ashdod, Ness Ziona, Tel Sheva, Tel Aviv-Yaffo, Adanim School in Hadera, Tafnit School in Beit Shemesh, Nazereth Illit, Golan Regional Council, Hatzor HaGlilit, Migdal HaEmek, Pardes Hanna-Karkur, Shfar’am, Hura, Gush Etzion Regional Council, Ramat Hasharon, Har Hebron Regional Council, Gan Raveh Regional Council, Arad, Beit El, Drom HaSharon Regional Council, Alfei Menashe, Kiryat Bialik, Petach Tikva, El Kassum Regional Council, Zarzir, Jisr az-Zarqa, Kfar Qasem, Kafr Kanna, and Ararah (in the south).

 

Laptops for general school and kindergarten teachers

In addition, laptops were distributed as part of the "Digital Toolbox for Every Teacher" program to 783 teachers in Eilat, Kiryat Gat, Kfar Saba and the Mateh Asher Regional Council, as well as at the WIZO Ahuzat Yeladim boarding school in Haifa.

 

iPads and lab kits for science teachers

Moreover, within the framework of the "Digital Toolbox for Every Science Teacher" program, we distributed iPads plus Globisens Labdisc kits to science teachers at the Kiryat Noar schools in Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh, and the Yemin Orde Youth Village. Athena Fund has begun a pilot project to provide a Globisens Mobile Science Cart that includes 16 Labdisc units and 16 iPads. The first educational institutions to receive the Mobile Science Cart were the Kiryat Noar science yeshiva high school in Jerusalem and the Kiryat Chinuch yeshiva high school in Beit Shemesh.

 

In the upcoming 2019-2020 school year, approximately 3,000 additional school and kindergarten teachers will receive a digital toolbox within the framework of Athena Fund's various programs.
