On Friday, the 4th of February 500 or more people planted olive trees and said no to Jewish terrorism. Exactly two weeks ago a smaller contingent of activists were set upon by masked Jewish terrorists from the Givat Ronen outpost-settlement.
RHR Executive Director, Avi Dabush said of Friday's event: "This is a picture (see this video by Keren Manor) of the triumph of sanity, moderation, and partnership over violence, extremism and racism” During the event settlers from Givat Ronen attempted to reach the area where the event took place. However, they were rebuffed by the army, with whom this event was coordinated.RHR’s executive director, Avi Dabush stated: “This picture of hundreds of Israelis, including those injured by the Jewish terrorists, returning to the scene of the attack, two weeks after it occurred, represents a significant victory. We declared that we will not give into violence and that we would return to the field to stand and plant in solidarity (video by Keren Manor) with Palestinian olive farmers against those who regularly attack them. And that is what we did. We came here, to Burin, because of our determined conviction that there is another Judaism, one that seeks human rights, peace and solidarity. This is our Judaism and this is the clear answer to extremism, to messianism, to the ill-fated evil that gnaws at Israeli society in the form of those who seek to install a messianic regime based on hate and isolation.” Among those present were MK Ahmad Tibi, MK Gaby Lasky and MK Mossi Raz. The organizations Peace Now, Standing Together, Breaking the Silence, Mothers Against Violence, Combatants for Peace, Zazim – Community Action, The Harvest Coalition, Mehazkim and more were important partners in this event.
